Jon Bellion Forever ("we," "us," "the app") is a fan-built archive and community for Jon Bellion's discography, releases, shows, and collectibles. This policy explains what information we collect through the app and website at jonbellionforever.com, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
This is an independent fan project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated on behalf of Jon Bellion, his label, or his management.
Information you provide directly
| What | Why we collect it |
|---|---|
| Email address | Account login, and — if you sign up for the waitlist on our homepage — to notify you when the app launches. |
| Username, display name, bio, profile photo | Shown on your public profile inside the app. |
| Password (if you register with email/password) | Stored as a one-way cryptographic hash — we never store or can see your plaintext password. |
| Home city, state, country | Optional. If provided, plots your general location on the community Fan Map and draws a line to shows you've marked as attended. This is self-reported and approximate — we do not collect precise device location. |
| Collection items, show attendance, favorites, marketplace listings, messages, forum posts | The core content you create using the app — your personal collection, trade listings, and conversations with other users. |
| Photos you upload | Attached to collection items, listings, or your profile, at your choice. |
Information from third-party sign-in
If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive a token proving your identity along with the email address and name your account is registered with — nothing else (we never receive your Google or Apple password). If you register a passkey, your device handles biometric or screen-lock verification locally; we only store the public key material needed to verify future sign-ins, never any biometric data itself.
Information collected automatically
Our servers log standard request metadata (IP address, timestamp, endpoint requested) for security, debugging, and abuse prevention. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers in the app.
How your information is used
- To operate your account and authenticate you
- To display your public profile, collection, and activity to other users (unless your account is set to private)
- To connect buyers and sellers on the in-app marketplace
- To plot the community Fan Map from self-reported home locations and attended shows
- To send you a one-time email if you join the pre-launch waitlist
- To maintain the security and integrity of the service
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers.
Who can see your information
By default, your profile, collection, shows attended, and home city are visible to other users of the app. You can switch your account to Private in Settings at any time — this restricts that information to accepted followers only. Direct messages and forum posts are visible only to their intended recipients or, for forum posts, other members of the linked community forum (beautifulmind.club).
Third-party services we use
| Service | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Google Sign-In / Apple Sign In | Optional account authentication |
| OpenStreetMap / Nominatim | Converts self-reported city/state into map coordinates |
| Genius, Discogs, Setlist.fm | Public catalog metadata (song credits, releases, show setlists) imported into the archive — not connected to your personal account |
| beautifulmind.club (NodeBB forum) | Optional forum account linking, if you choose to connect one |
Data retention and deletion
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing hello@jonbellionforever.com from the email address on your account. We will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we're required to retain it for legal or security reasons.
Security
Passwords are hashed, never stored in plain text. Auth tokens on mobile devices are stored in the device's secure hardware-backed keychain (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore), not in plain app storage. All traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted with TLS.
Children's privacy
Jon Bellion Forever is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
